Welcome to Magnet Biology!
And with that, welcome to Wheeler Magnet! I'm so excited that you're here and that you'll be learning biology with me this semester. See below for course information and documents.
what is "steam"?
I have to do a Research project?
Yes! You will get to explore any life science topic, You will test your own hypothesis through a controlled experiment, and you will carry out the investigation throughout the entire semester. You will design an experiment and collect data like real scientists, because that's what you are!
At the end, you will present your poster and art data, potentially earning the opportunity to compete in the Cobb County Science Fair!

What about the "The immortal life of henrietta Lacks"?
This is a fantastic book, and you will have the pleasure of reading it this summer. You will need to read it, not just for my class, but for all your other magnet classes at Wheeler.
We will be doing reflective journal writing on it throughout the semester, discussing its science, history, and ethics. It will culminate with a short in-class STEAM project.
Below, the journal prompts will be available after each session for students who missed class to make-up at home.
